PRESERV NEWS

Work in Progress

The American Hotel - Sag Harbor, Long Island

PRESERV completed phase two of the façade restoration work at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, Long Island.

New custom fabricated brownstone lintels and sills were installed to replace the deteriorated original stone from the 1840's. The brickwork was cleaned and repointed. In addition, the brownstone and brick cornice, with brownstone decorative cast stone, was rebuilt and fully restored.

Work will resume this Fall on the South façade.

Church of the Ascension - Interior

PRESERV continues the interior restoration of this 1840's House of Worship which include lighting upgrades and preparation for the installation of the Pascale Quoirin Organ. Handmade in Southern France, the Quoirin Organ will be the first French organ installed in New York City and the first of its kind installed in America. Evergreene Architectural Arts is preparing and applying the decorative paint scheme replicating the ashlar pattern on the walls obscured by previous painting programs. Melanie Freundlich Lighting Design is the lighting designer for the project and Leo Blackman Architects are the project architects. The main sanctuary will be closed for the next year while the restoration and installations take place.
