Lucy G. Moses Preservation Award

The Bennet-Farrell-Feldmann House, of Bay Ridge is one of the few surviving Brooklyn buildings created in the Greek Revival style. Built in 1847, this building has become a city landmark. By the late 1990s, however, the house’s condition had grown so poor that it was closed down and boarded up. With help from the Landmarks Conservancy, the current owners hired PRESERV Inc. to restore this house to its original beauty. Making superb exterior restorations, PRESERV was able to replace deteriorating sections, refurbish, and repaint this building. Additionally, the entire porch was rebuilt with new columns. For their shrewd and extensive deliberations, PRESERV received the Lucy G. Moses Preservation award from the New York Landmarks Conservancy.

This unique church, which is listed on both the National Register of Historic Places and the New Jersey Register of Historic Places, is a veritable showpiece of masonry materials including brick, limestone, yellow & brown sandstone, bluestone, and granite.
