131 Charles Street


Landmark brick rowhouse built in the Federal style in 1834 by David Christie, located between Greenwich and Washington Streets, Manhattan.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Complete exterior restoration included:
  • Removal of exterior paint from the façade's severely deteriorated masonry
  • Rebuilding of over 50% of brick façade
  • Replacement of damaged cornice
  • Restoration of woodwork
Project completed in the Fall of 1995

The American Hotel - Sag Harbor, Long Island

PRESERV completed phase two of the façade restoration work at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, Long Island.

New custom fabricated brownstone lintels and sills were installed to replace the deteriorated original stone from the 1840's. The brickwork was cleaned and repointed. In addition, the brownstone and brick cornice, with brownstone decorative cast stone, was rebuilt and fully restored.

Work will resume this Fall on the South façade.
